Learning about bushfires

This section introduces the theme of 'Learning about bushfires' in the context of safety messages for children between 4 and 5 years of age, and may be used with students in Prep. The learning intention is to provide a basic awareness of fire safety and the different types of fire, with the focus of keeping everyone safe. These understandings play a key role as to why it is very important to learn about bushfire safety.

What is fire safety?

Learning intention:

Children will be encouraged to explore the concept of safety in their daily lives. This session will introduce children to fire safety and will explore why it is important to be safe around all fires.

Learning intention:

This session will help children understand understand different types of fires and that some fires are helpful and others can be dangerous.
